 SAINT JOHN – Simone Charron won the U16 girls event while Laura Corscadden and Adam Melanson placed 3rd in the U18 girls and U16 boys events at the
one-kilometre
NB High School Indoor Rowing Championships held on the weekend at Rothesay Netherwood School in Saint John.
Carron's time of 3:51.6 was over three seconds ahead of her nearest competitor in a field of 38 athletes and placed her 4th overall. Corscadden's time of 3:50.1 and Melanson's 3:20.6 placed them 3rd and 9th overall, respectively.
Over 120 athletes from all over New Brunswick participated in the event which included exchange students from Mexico and China.
Crews will return to the area in three weeks time for the outdoor championships which will take place at the Kennebecassis Rowing Club in Saint John , N.B.
