Thirteen rowers from the Fredericton Rowing Club earned medals at the Really Chili Rowing Regatta held in conjunction with the Atlantic University Rowing championships held in Dartmouth, N.S. Five FRC crews set race records on the 4.3km course.
Crews of Michele Roy/Hannah Langille and Simone/Christina Hawkins tied for first place with a time of time of 20:06 in the junior women's doubles event. In the novice men's doubles event, Chris Fetter and Mike Craig took first place with a record time of 20:53.
The cox four junior women's crew of Danielle Caravan, Jess Sequin, Linea Fetter, Sophie Forestell and Robert Forestell (cox) finished with a record time of 20:02. Other FRC winners included Adam Melanson in the junior men's singles with a time of 19:37 and Pat Cody in the masters men's singles with a time of 18:21.
The Atlantic University Rowing Championship saw Memorial University win the overall championship over Dalhousie University by one point on the 1000 metre course. University of New Brunswick/ St. Thomas University came third with seven points followed by St. Francis Xavier University with five points.
