Members of FRC loaded their trailor to move the rowing shells to higher ground in preparation of the massive flooding that hit the Fredericton area.
Many downtown streets, schools and government offices were shutdown for the remainder of the week.
The water level reached the 8.33 metre mark which is the second worst flood in N.B. history. The worst was the flood of 1973 measuring 8.61 metres. The rowing club was not situated at it's current location at the time of the 1973 flood. Water levels are expected to remain high for some time.
